A Christmas Story

Generation to generation – a Christmas story that will never be forgotten

A Christmas story is something that brings families together on the holidays. A Christmas story can be fun, cheerful and based on legendary traditions, or it can be truly enlightening.

Laura Legend tells the original – A Christmas story to be remembered…

A Christmas story that is true as can be and is widely believed by Christians everywhere is the story of Christ’s birth.

Jesus’ mother, Mary, was the virgin of the immaculate conception. She was chosen to give birth to the Son of God.

A Christmas story, as told in the Bible, says that an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph, who was to be Mary’s husband, telling him that Mary would bear the Son of God and he was to name him Jesus.

Joseph had to make a trip to his hometown to register for the census and he took Mary along with him. Because there was no lodging available in Bethlehem, according to a Christmas story, Mary and Joseph stayed in the manger where Baby Jesus was born.

People came from everywhere to see Baby Jesus, the newborn King. Wise men or Persian kings, also known as the three kings of the Orient or the Magi, brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the manger for Jesus.

Did you know? Reference to the “wise men” has been challenged and changed to Magi due to potential translations that indicate the term Magi did not necessarily refer only to men, but could in fact be women.

As a Christmas story to remember, it is interesting to note that the persecution of Christ began with his birth, long before he began preaching.

Due to news of the newborn King of the Jews, King Herod ordered that all baby boys be killed. Joseph took Mary and Baby Jesus and fled to Egypt to protect Baby Jesus from the vicious king.
